Our Story
Established in September 2007, Aspire Port City Academy emerged to offer Stockton families a high-quality TK–5 charter school experience. Located in San Joaquin County and founded under Charter #1553 via Stockton Unified School District, Port City has been a proud part of the Aspire Public Schools Central Valley network, which began in 1999 and now includes sixteen TK–12 campuses across the region.

Growth & Community
Today, Aspire Port City Academy proudly serves approximately 450 students representing the vibrant diversity of Stockton. Our families reflect a rich cultural mosaic—66% Hispanic, 11% African American, 11% Asian, 8% multiracial, and 2% White—bringing unique strengths, languages, and traditions into our school community. We are committed to fostering a warm, inclusive environment where every student is seen, supported, and celebrated. With a student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 25:1 in grades TK–3 and 35:1 in grades 4–5, our passionate educators work hard to build strong relationships and provide meaningful, personalized instruction that nurtures each child’s growth and success.

Looking Ahead
While historically our academic performance has trailed state averages in areas like ELA and Math, Aspire Port City Academy is deeply committed to improvement. Through enhanced whole-child instruction, extensive family and community engagement, and collaborative regional support, we’re focused on closing achievement gaps and nurturing resilient, successful students—equipped for lifelong learning and leadership.
